Where did you get that conclusion? SC is a clock and track app.. Nothing to do with anything else. Blip is standard

what i want to know is whether 1 layer of PSM off is enough to deactivate auto blipping in sport mode or we need the whole hog of 2 layers?

I didn't come to any conclusion...that's why I was asking.

I like the aesthetics of the clock, but don't want the auto-blip. Hoping to get both without having to turn PSM off, but seems like I can't.

It would appear the 'automatic throttle-blipping' is a separate button:

The track timing/video functionality of the SC option has been roundly panned by the 991 GT3 guys. It's an option I wouldn't consider on a GT4, since it doesn't tie into performance in any way. As far as the aesthetics, I believe Mooty refers to it as "the wart."

YMMV,

Sport Chrono clock/stopwatch is a wart on 997 and 991, but it's well integrated into 981 dash. I have it in my GTS (it's just a clock) and I like the look of it. I wouldn't bother getting it in GT4 though.

Ah, I test drove a 981 w/ SC and didn't notice it, but now that I look at some images on the web of the 981 dash, I can see that the clock is lower and centered between the A/C vents, not standing proud like it used to be. It's more integrated looking, for sure. On my 987.2 CS, it's definitely a wart, and I have yet to use it (as either a clock or a timer). I wanted the SC package performance improvements for the Sport+ mode of PDK and ECU mapping, so I tolerate it, though. I'm surprised it hasn't been better integrated into the 991 dash.

Direct from Porsche on the Rev matching:

"This feature is part of the sport button.
You will not need to order the sport chrono app."

That is much a much better solution than in the 991 because it effectively means that you can turn off auto blip by simply leaving the sport button off. In my 991 I am always annoyed with Sport+ because it engaged auto blip but without it I don't get the most aggressive steering and dynamic engine mount settings. Isolating all that on the GT4 appears to address that issue if I've understood it right.

I wish it was posted what all the sport button does when it is depressed. In the CR, it controls other functions as well. One being that the thermostat opens more. Thus, if tracking, its preferred to have a more open thermostat. From my understanding, the thermostat controls are an issue to meet emission requirements. Personally, I do not like the overly sensitive throttle on the CR when the sport mode is engaged.

Look at the pics on the configurator... it's not a top of dash wart style clock on the new GT4. It is nestled between the two center dash air vents.

Understood, and noted in my post #22 above.
Thx,

Is there a way to disable the traction when start of the car without pushing the button?
