wheel question
My new Cayman S came with 19 inch rims but want to go for a second set for DE at 18 inch. with no major suspension change other than new front lower control arms can anyone suggest which are the best 18 inch rims ( sya 8 vs 8.5 front, 10's in the rear) and tire sizes for those rims
Thank you

Check clearance, but I would look at the OZ Allegerita. Strong, light, relatively inexpensive. The set I had on my 987 have seen well over 100 track days w/o issue.

I second the OZs Allegerita. I use them for my rain tires (see my avatar). Sizes: 18x10, 18x8.5, running 245/35s and 275/35s.

I used the same set up as Frank. It works well with Nitto tires

18" OZs Allegerita HTL w/ Hankook Ventus R-S3 tires is what I settled on.
8.5" front and 10" rear w/ 255/35 & 285/35 respectively.
Check w/ Damon at Tire Rack.

I just got that same exact set up for my 987 CS. Can't wait to try it out on the track.

Ahhh, the car looked familiar. I picked up a 987.2 Cayman S last month and followed in your footsteps of getting the OZ wheels with the RS3s.

Terry told me you moved up in class w/ the 987.2 (lol). Looking forward to hooking up at the next track event and trying out the new wheel/tire setup.

Ditto, hopefully you can make it out to the PCA San Diego event at Chuckwalla.

Any thoughts on widest 19" wheels front and back (and offset if possible), and widest tire size (realizing there are differences between manufacturers)??
