I just bought a similar car, but with even more options, in April and paid 34K and it only had 15,500 miles. It was immaculate in and out.

Sounds a little over priced unless you are valuing the upgrades higher than I would. AWE exhaust, JIC Coil Overs, are aftermarket. Everything else is very common for an S version.

What is the 2008 issue that you've read about? The common issues with the 987.1 are the same for every model year. IMS, A/O separator, shift cables, water pumps, and the paint/coating on the A/C unit buttons wearing off.

What is the "'08 issue"? '06-'08 were all the same.
Price seems about right. Should be some wiggle room there.
Maintenance records and overall condition of the car makes a huge difference in whether the price is good or too high.
This owner has put $$ into his mods which often indicates someone who cared well for the car.
Mods don't usually add to the value of the car when it's time to sell, so don't put much added value on them.

I cannot find the post about it, but I believe after reading more, that it might have been in reference to the IMS issue on models upto 2008 vs 2009.

I have found a 2009 with 15k miles for $28k...but the paint is bad..all chipped up...and its a base model, which is good enough for me. Wife would rather pay more for the older that is prestine..

The issues mentioned above are rare to happen. Especially the IMS It is a larger bearing than 2005 and prior. All others is easy to PM if you desire. I have my original water pump and A/O separator, shifter cables with 51,000 Good luck on your purchase.

2007 Cayman my wife likes..$24k...This is the one my wife wants me to get because of the color...Going to go see it Saturday..

39,800 miles break down to approximately 65% highway miles and 35% city/suburb miles, with minimal city miles being driven since June 2011. Never driven in the snow or salt. The engine is a 2.7L 6-cylinder with 5-speed manual transmission. One of the most unique aspects of this car are the add-on packages: the Porsche Active Suspension Management - PASM and the Sport Chrono Package. If you want a Porsche with the two most desirable options that will make it handle and perform the best, then this is the car for you. PASM has the option for the driver to adjust the suspension firmness (Normal/Sport). Sport Chrono adds the ability to increase the response of the throttle and adds the chronograph on the top of the dash. These are rare in any Cayman, but virtually impossible to find together in the non-S Cayman. The options as listed on the window sticker are: black mats with Porsche lettering, heated seats, 18" Cayman S wheels, PASM, Sound Package Plus, Sport Chrono Package, and 3-spoke Sport steering wheel. MSRP: $55,965. The following after market options are included. The front of the car (including the entire hood) and all the most vulnerable areas on the rest of the car are protected by XPEL paint protection film. This was professionally installed about one month after the car was purchased. In addition to the carpeted floormats (which have never been used), I have installed a set of Rennline black aluminum mats and floor boards. Both trunks have aftermarket conformal plastic liners installed as well. No accidents, non-smoker, garage kept, all maintenance performed ahead of time, dealer maintained, and the brakes and tires are in great condition
