Default TPMS

I have a 2008 Cayman S that recently has been giving me a false reading on the left side tires. It started out as just the left rear and about a week later included the left front. The display shows the pressure on the both rears as being the same yet it also says I need to add four psi to the LR. I checked the pressures on both sides and they were both the same. As an experiment I added air to both the the LF and LR and this cleared the alert on the display but then came back two days later even though the left side tires had more air than the right side. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks.

One or more of the batteries is probably in the process of dying. Particularly if they are the original sensors.

Thanks for the reply. Where would the batteries be located?

Batteries are in the TPMS sensor units inside the wheels. To replace the batteries, you must replace the TPMS sensor units. Many have had good luck with these reasonably priced units.

I used Durametric Pro to disable the TPMS, a dealer could also do it.

Once you disable it is that reversible? I would love it disabled but if I ever sell it it would probably have to be enabled and any problem(s) corrected.

If TPMS is disabled with Durametric or the dealer, it can be reversed.
