Nice.
The GTS has to be the best looking and driving sports car Porsche makes.
If they had the ok to bring it up to or past the 911 performance no question it would move in the top spot. They know it too. Of course that is why they don't and won't do it.

You buy a 911 like you buy a Rolex. You buy a Cayman because it's one of the best handling and driving cars every built. It's infinitely more interesting as a platform for Porsche to build on imho

With all due respect to 911 owners. The Cayman S and GTS are the best handling cars Porsche makes regardless of power. The 911 is a watermark in automotive history and deserves multiple chapters in a book about cars but it's status as an icon has trapped it's development.

Nice spec, and GORGEOUS (I too love the Rhodium Silver).

It's always with due respect to 911 owners - we know already that the mid engine stuff is great. It is all about mastering the 911 and the weight in the back. My wife is quick in my Cayman, and so is my mom. That is the whole point of the 911, especially the 997 and earlier, it takes a slightly different style to master it. The fun and reward is the learning process with the 911. When I want an easy drive I take my boxster S, Cayman or R8. When I want to challenge myself, I'll take the 996 GT3 or the 997 RS.

i am on my 7th cay/box.
but i have to add that the two platforms feel different. and you have to drive them differently. at limit, 911 handles better and easier to save.

I agree with you that they are different. It is all in mastering the physics of it. Need all the flavors. Also the dynamics of a good front engine/rwd car fun as well. Most people are faster in the mid engine cars. The 911 just needs more practice imo to get the best out of it.

You, sir, have one fine car.
I got a chance to drive my buddy's new Cayman GTS, spec'd out almost identically to yours, this morning around the Snake in Malibu, and wow. Just wow.
Having owned a 991 911 PDK for a while now, I forgot just how fun it is to row through the gears, and to do it in a car so well-put together and balanced as the Cayman.
Congrats, and drive it in good health.

Very nice, I'm thinking when my job no longer requires AWD, I will pick one of these up. The trouble is, I won't be able to spec it as I would like to if I go used. Hopefully there will still be a good GTS like this with manual trans to buy new (timeline is a few years).
