Default Cayman's model designation

Not sure if the is has been covered but does anyone know waht the model designation of the Cayman wil be? 987? i.e the Bobter is 987 and the new 911 carrera is a 997.

Just curious.

C is the roman numeral for 100, so in a way, it's model designation is 1007.

Which is logical, since we're running out of 9xx numbers.

I think Porsche has been trying to move away from naming models after their project numbers...These designations are just that, internal designations, like the 951, 964, 993, etc. I'm not even sure if the Cayman's project number is C7 (1007).
