Instead of a leaf blower, i'd highly recommend the McKee's 37 car dryer. It's powerful, pretty quiet (I'd say it's a little louder than a typical household canister vacuum), and blows filtered air.

I'd at least put some filter of some kind over the air intake of the leaf blower... a sheet of foam cut to the right size, cheesecloth (if there's a grid to keep it from getting sucket in), etc. Just slap the filter on the leaf blower after you start it up and you'll get plenty-clean air. Doesn't have to be anything elaborate and doesn't need to be a "purpose made" car dyer. It's just air, as long as you aren't shooting grains of sand (or worse) at the car most any blower is perfectly safe for the car. Of course when you turn the leaf blower off, the foam or cheesecloth or whatever (heck even an old tee shirt might work fine, just wrap it around the blower, and that woldn't fall off when you turn off the blower) will fall off, so don't forget to hold it when you turn off if you aren't planning to throw it away after 1 use.

The clean up continues..

Let the car "cook" in leatherique for 36 hours...

leather is better than new... clean down to the pores..

Looks very nice...I also swear by leatherique for maintaining that new leather look, feel, and smell.

Leatherique rejuvenating oil , I have used brushes and applicator pads.. now I prefer bare hands.. massage it into leather, let it bake for 24-48 hrs, and then Prestine Clean to wipe off..

leather will be back to original, no shine, like new shape

Interesting on the Leatherique.

I don't have the leather dash but would probably work great on the seats and steering wheel. No slimy feeling afterwards, right?

I read somewhere that leather on the dash and other exposed areas is treated differently during manufacture from leather on seats, and that this kind of treatment would actually make it start to sag slightly. Is that incorrect?

I have always just wiped off those leather surfaces with a damp cloth, but if I can do better I would like to know. =)

Gas leaf blowers exhaust through the nozzle, blowing combustion products on the car...

I discovered on the second wash that it's a lot easier if you lower the air suspension all the way...

I wouldn't think of using a gas leaf blower to dry a car... electric only. Simple to filter, no exhaust to deal with.

Yup, using electric leaf blower of course

I forgot about the lowest air suspension setting, will try it next time..

and yes, you are right about the leather on dash and other areas being different than the ones on seats etc

you have to stay clear of seams and stitching, manufacturers use glue to wrap the leather onto plastic surfaces and these cleaners can damage that glue..
