Question Exhaust leak - flexible pipe between the cats

2004 CTT, I have an exhaust leak in the braided steel section of the front catalytic converter on the passenger side.

Is this something that can be repaired in place?

I found this "repair pipe", but if I have to remove the front cat anyway, I might just get new ones.

If I do need a new front cat, is there anything between OEM replacement and the Fabspeed $2,300 set?

http://www.fabspeed.com/955-turbo-tu...tic-converter/

I found this set on eBay for $400, but I don't see the bung for the second O2 sensor and they might not be for a turbo.

Is it the same converter for the turbo and the S? A lot of the listings I found mention NA only but then I found listings that showed fitment for both with the same part.

It looks like this will be what I need.

Hello John, be careful what you pay for on these cars. The quality of the cat core is very important, as lesser quality cats tend to throw CELs and physically deteriorate quickly with the power these cars put out. We use nothing but the highest quality HJS cat cores that we have imported from Germany. They are also less dense, so not only are they top quality but they will unleash a nice bit of performance and give you a subtle but sportier exhaust note.

The HJS cat cores also come with a 2 year warranty, and the remaining components/workmanship is covered undder our Lifetime Limited warranty. When you purchase from us be assured you are getting the best and we are right here in PA for immediate support any time

PM heading your way, and I hope to have your join the Fabspeed community!

Let us know what you ended up doing. I have a leak in my passenger side flexpipe as well and im contemplating removing it and taking it to a exhaust shop to weld in a new section of flexpipe.

I haven't decided yet, but I'm leaning towards replacing the cats. The cat has to be removed to repair it either way.

I'll let you know.

Default Flex pipe as modular part

I found this option to replace the flex pipe. I haven't done the repair yet but like the look of this:
