Default Exhaust for 2016 Cayenne S

Hey guys!

I was wandering if you could suggest me a good aftermarket exhaust system for my S, as the current "sport" one sounds like a refrigerator

And a quick question- does installing aftermarket exhaust void the warranty? Thanks

Ha, I'm sure it's light years better than my '15 S without the sports exhaust. I've never heard anything like it. Sickly is how I'd describe it.

I'm surprised Fabspeed hasn't come to our rescue. They have Macan exhausts for this motor.

I test drove the non sport model, and the guy swore to god that sport will be almost like a v8 on an my amg ml. He was lucky that he retired before I got the delivery.

Why not give our secondary catbypass pipes a shot?

These are for the V6 turbo? Sounded like it. Are they as hard to install at the N/A V8 pipes were?

In any event, the exhaust sound now is dog excrement. I'm worried I'll get loud dog excrement. If anyone has a set of these on a car without PSE I'd like to hear it.

They're not too bad, maybe 1.5hrs? Lol well the video is a decent representation and we didn't think it was half bad for a V6...to each his own I suppose

I think we're comparing apples to oranges.

Your video is a GTS with PSE. I've got an S without PSE. I'm saying the non-PSE exhaust sound like mine is crap and worried I'm gonna make loud crap with your bypasses. That's my worry. I'd love to hear these on a non-PSE car, not a PSE car with valves closed.

You are correct, the bypasses don't sound bad on the GTS.

Damn I think that GTS sounds killer! Very exotic sounding. Something I'd definitely WANT if I owned one - just to help push aside those comments about "Why didn't you buy a Touareg for less money?"

Please don't shoot me, but in all of my years as a gearhead, there has never been a v6 engine with an exhaust note I loved. Cars, trucks, diesels, boats, bikes, new, old, exotic, old school, even the new F1 v6's, etc. ...well, maybe an airplane or two I liked, but those suckers are very large displacement. I would rather have the note of a large displacement I4 or even a small displacement I4 over a V6's drone.

I hope these new Porsche engines with the right exhaust can change my mind!

Jag's F-type 6 cylinder sounds pretty good.

I'm subscribed to this thread as I'm in the same boat as B Kish.... I've got a 2012 Cayenne S without PSE, and the sound is not even remotely impressive, so I'd love to see what my options are for getting a snazzier sound out of my V8.

I put the Fabspeed Sport Headers and 200-Cell cats on my PSE-equipped 2010 911 4S and the sound is AMAZING. It's making me wonder how I can get a better exhaust note on my Cayenne S with something from the Fabspeed guys. Any suggestions appreciated (with sounds clips preferred )

Probably one of the better ones out there, but then you hear the v8 version of that car and with the performance exhaust... it sounds mean as hell and LOUD straight from the factory. I took one for a test drive when they came out and was mighty impressed. I will be adding an F-type to the garage one day for sure.

At least your car has a V8, so you have more options. You should be able to find sound clips galore of bypass pipes, exhausts, etc.

The post is focusing more on the latest gen turbo V6's and the anemic sound.

I would conjecture the Jag sounds good, in part, because there are no turbos in the exhaust flow to affect the sound. It is a supercharged motor as compared to the Porsche V6's.

Well think of it this way, our bypass pipes for your V6 are $795 and offer the high likelihood of improving your exhaust note like is has the PSE models and all the other Non-PSE Cayennes we have made them for over the years. In the off chance you don't like the sound, they are one of the best selling products we have ever made. They should sell used very quickly on the forum for little less than you bought them for. Inexpensive and quick experiment

Thanks for the kind words! We are quite happy with how it came out

Oh I can help you with that, those V8s sound awesome once you start freeing up the exhaust system haha. Also glad to hear you are enjoying the Sport Headers on your 997.2! Here are some clips of the Secondary Catbypass Pipes on the 958 V8NA, let me know what you think!
