Drifting
Get the fuel filter flange fixed ASAP. When it blows - you'll get squirting fuel literally(high pressure), while driving. And, leaking fuel while moving at 50mph....ends-up on the hot exhaust pipes. You only need to do the driver's side. I'd wait until the fuel level goes below 1/4 tank to do it. A 30min job. Here is the YouTube video:

^^ Thanks! I got it done a couple months back and the fuel smell is gone, MPGs have increased, and I didn't manage to kill myself or inhale too many fumes while down there.
I have the tool to unscrew the caps; happy to lend out or sell if someone wants it.

Havent done much to the car since the last update. Been running fantastic. I didn't mention the LED upgrade I did to all lights interior and exterior (my plate lights are the kind that don't throw the code, and are intensely bright), but that's a minor thing.
With a spare hour tonight, I "hammered" on a new option I wasn't able to get from the factory - a metallic skidplate.
As I'm sure you've guessed, it's not a real skid plate at all. I had some leftover hammered aluminum spray paint, so I applied to the skidplate area using a very liberal amount of masking tape to prevent any splashing.
I used this as a template:

Oh guess I did do a couple other things as well. Refinished in matte black and installed the roof rails. Don't have significant added wind noise, at least at normal speeds.
Maybe I would be the only one to find this funny. Seen at Sonnen in Mill Valley. #fightingglobalwarmingwithmyPIG
New roof rails!

How did the roof rails fit? I have a set for my pig and it seems like one side doesn't fit the curvature of the roof like the other side. If I install them I get a knock noise on the right side, so I just leave them off. they are factory rails.

They both fit perfectly. Maybe ensure you have them on the right side and going in the right direction (small side forward). I also have gasketing material bordering both rails, so they cannot knock around.
Not sure if this will help...

Looks great! I think my right roof rails a little miss shaped. When it's setting on the roof there is a good 1/2" gap in the front. The left side fits great. I can push down on the front and get it attached, but then it knocks over bumps. I mess with it some more later. Thanks for the pics. You have one great looking pig!

Thats interesting as im not sure I could even bend the rails. Only thing I can think of is they were attached to bikes and someone drove into a garage or overpass at a decent clip. Did that on my BMW with bikes at low speed and it may have had some impact, though totally different system and the bikes bore the brunt of the impact.

So question for you all - someone hit the car in a parking lot and slightly bent the right rear exhaust tips. As a result they are now pointing directly into the edge of the plastic rear valence. Sucks, but that's life. Does anyone know if it's possible to bend back either via hammer or other apparatus the tips?
