Haha, no - it's a D.Moris copy of the factory hard top. After $5K and tons of pain and agony (including a fun afternoon with Customs and Border Patrol), it's actually a great addition. I actually almost never drive top down anymore.
@Kino - will get additional pics. They're Llyods mats, but apparently the license to do the "Turbo" script from Porsche is ending, so if you want the turbo mats, you apparently need to act pretty quickly. They were $166 shipped; if you PM me I can send you the info. I spent a good 2 hours trying to find someone who would make the turbo script mats for me. Also they are officially licensed from Porsche to do the lettering (though that's ending; and you can't get the ultra-luxe mats with the turbo script, apparently Porsche didn't like that). Front mats. Fitment is excellent.
Have the option of getting a fabspeed exhaust installed. Anyone have any experience with them on the 955 turbo? Is it a lot of noise for no good reason?
I made my introduction in the buy a high mileage Cayenne thread. I ended up throwing caution to the wind and picking up this 2-owner, 100% dealer serviced 2006 CTT with about 175K miles on the clock:
It need(s) a good scrub on the interior - I've already exhausted one bottle of Porsche's leather cleaner - mostly because the prior owners' detailer must have had lexol flowing through his veins. Upside is the leather is in great condition, including the driver's seat/bolsters. Downside is the car smells like a Lexol granade went off inside.
Regarding work I think may need to be done in the near future:
- Fuel Pumps/Filters. I detect a faint smell of gasoline when I turn the car off. Additionally, I didn't drive the car all week, and when I took her out for a spin yesterday the "refuel now" sign was on. Wasn't on when I parked it. This has happened 2x times now, which makes me think the rubber rings are shot. Additionally, the battery was replaced less than 3K miles/6 months ago I think the car is having a hard time starting. Has not been an issue to date, but I hold my breath each time I start the car. This makes me think fuel pump/filter. I have kept the car on my trickle charger to boot, just to make sure it's not an electrical issue. Starter motor may also be a culprit.
- Rear Camera. Works intermittantly. The Alpine Nav unit is pretty awesome; touch screen, tons of features, etc, but I think the camera is starting wear out. I'm hoping this is an easy unplug/plug new camera event, but will investigate further.
And that's about it. Took her out on a great drive to Marin last weekend that ended in a picnic out the back in Tiburon looking at the ships coming and going through the Golden Gate.

Thanks - probably unrecognizeable from your 2016 Turbo S, but handles really well and has more power than I could want in two cars (it has almost double the HP of 964).
Still wondering if anyone has any experience with the fabspeed exhaust.

We make primary sport cats, secondary catbypass pipes, and a maxflo muffler system for that car. If not all, what sections of the exhaust system are you looking to have installed? I'd be happy to give you some insight on expected results
I did install my hitch last night. Got to give a shout-out to Etrailer.com for sending the hitch quickly and it was well packed. Still not sure how they made any money given I paid $150 shipped and the damn thing weighs 40lbs and came in a big box. Installation was a breeze, although getting the bumper back on required cutting about 36 square inches of the bottom plastic part of the bumper. Everything else went on without a hitch (pun sort of intended, but I realize it's incorrect usage).
Swapped the rear door pistons as I want to be 100% that it won't come crashing down in the future. Relatively easy install, although I seem to have lost a few clips in the process and the mating between the headliners isn't 100% anymore. It's barely noticeable, but if anyone has a part number for the metallic clips, I may try pulling it off one more time and adding them in.
I also have diagnosed the one of the little "ticks" this car has; a squealing that matches the RPM almost like there's a tiny tiny third turbo located right behind the instrument panel. I know another guy on here had a similar issue. Very intermittant, and typically goes away pretty quickly.
It's actually the speaker located at the front of the dash. I have no idea why it squeals with the RPM, but I noticed that with the radio on the only time I hear the squeal is when it seems that speaker isn't working. As soon as the speaker returns to the regularly scheduled programming, there's no squeal.
I may dig in and pull the speaker to see if there's a loose wire or something....
Replaced hatch shocks on my S and it worked a lot better. Replaces both hatch and hatch window shocks on my new to me turbo and Dang, that thing opens with a vengeance now!
It's definitely worth it and cheap insurance to prevent a KO.
In other news, took the CTT on a 420 mile road trip to Tahoe and back. Filled up once, and averaged about 15mpg. Seems like I can't do much better than that, no matter how I try (if I try to drive efficiently, I typically can; I drove my '06 3-series BMW years back down to LA and average 35mpg until I got to the outskirts of LA). I'm also looking forward to solving the fuel smell with new fuel filters and gaskets once I get the parts. Hoping that helps some.
I also checked out the Techno Twists that I was going to buy. They were awesome, but with all the crap in the car, I wasn't able to figure out a way to get them in, so I continued on my way and told the seller to let me know if he's in the neighborhood, or next time I come to Tahoe if he still has them, I'll pick them up.
Second quick trip up to Tahoe and the CTT killed it. Even got the chance to pick up my new wheels. Had to be somewhat creative in loading all 4 -
Got my OEM Techno Twists. They're currently coated in a matte black, which looks good and I won't pull off. As much as I love seeing clean metallic rims, I hate cleaning them all the time!
Your fuel smell could also be the cracking top of the driver side fuel pump plastic fuel tank caps. Very typical on VW/Audi/Porsche. Lots of DIY info on it. Starts as a mild smell. Often outside car on left side. It's not difficult to do but also not rewarding job.
^^ Yup. As soon as I get my T2020 or whatever tool in the mail I'll get on to it. I already have the new seals and a new fuel filter, so hoping it resolves my issue.
New set of wheels/tires! I was originally hesitant with the matte black (I bought them that way; it an application and can be removed) worried that it looks too unconventional. For some reason the wife really likes them though!
Also, I (nor the guys who balanced and put the wheels on) didn't realize the Techno's are staggered? Seems like the offsets are 55/60 for rear/front. When they put them on, one of the wheels was against the front brake caliper. I checked my original wheels and they're all 60 offsets. Kind of a bummer since I can't do an easy rotation with these.
