Default 955 Tire Sizes and Questions

I have a 2004 Cayenne S running 275/40R20's for my summer wheels and I'd like to find something beefier. What's a common size that can be run on these with both a wider tire and taller sidewall? Can you run 295/45's without rubbing? Does anyone have any pics of their Cayenne with a larger tire than a 275/40R20? Just curious.

I am also curious. I've been considering some 18in wheels to get more all-terrain options. I have a mile of dirt road driveway with a couple 40degree sections, I need a little more tire than the 20's are providing.

You can look at 265\50-20 Nitto Terra Grappler G2's or 275/55-20 Cooper Zeon's. These are often used by prior generation Range Rovers that want all-terrains with their 20" wheels.

I have had the Zeon's on two Rovers. A little hum over 50mph, and their wet traction\hydroplane resistance is not as good as other AT's I have utilized. They are great off-road as AT's go in terms of traction, but not durability.

I run 275/45/20 for winters. They look a little better in that the fill up the wheel wells more. Once you get beyond 31.0 inches, you'll likely start rubbing. Will be dependent on the tire.

Perfect. Looks like I'll be switching from 275/40's to 275/45's for my summer setup. My winters are 265/60's and that's as big as I can go with my suspension setup (H&R Sport Springs).

+1.
I run 275/45 20 for winter on both of my pigs and 295/40 20 for summer on my blue pig. No rubbing whatsoever and blue one is lowered by an inch (and it's a TTS so lower than regular turbo).

Lupo do you run the 295's on all 4? Just curious. I'm lowered by an inch or so too..and I might go that route if I can!

Yup, all 4. I bought a second set of sport technos and now I use the 9x20 all around for winter and 10x20 all around for summer

Nice. Do you have any photos of the 295's on your car?

It isn't all it's cracked up to be. At least with the 295 I had on my turbo wheels. Sorry no pics, but there was a noticeable lip of tire sticking out over the wheel. Beyond that, it seemed to make the steering feel heavier. Personally I'm looking at either a wider wheel to go with a wider tire or sticking with 275/40r20 for my factory wheels.
