Default Could removing intake cause P0455 code?

I had to have my starter and battery replaced in December, which entails removal of the intake manifold to get to the starter. The day I drove it home it popped a CEL code P0455 (major evaporative leak). My dealer swears that nothing they did could have caused this code. I needed an oil change so I had my indy do that. They also do repair work and I had the extended warranty. They did a smoke test and replaced the evap canister (also under warranty). The code came back immediately. The dealer still doesn't think they caused this CEL but I think they may have not connected the intake manifold back correctly. What are ya'lls thoughts?

Does anyone here have any ideas as to my problem? I would appreciate any feedback on this. I am taking it to the dealer on Thursday.

There is a diagram here for the 996 series that shows a line to the intake manifold. Maybe just a leaking gas cap.

There is a evap purge valve running along the passenger side of the 957 Cayennes. It straddles the intake manifold base and when it fails, it triggers P0455, P0442 codes.

Sure enough, the dealer found a unhooked vacuum line to the intake that was causing the code. I still I am not sure that the evap canister needed replacing as well, but my indy mechanic swears the smoke test lead him to a faulty canister. I just can't see both things happening at the same time.

Did your dealer offer a coupon or discount on future service? After all you were inconvenienced by their screw up.

Nope, no discount offered but didn't charge anything for repair. I always seem to get detailed surveys from Porsche North America after any dealer service. This one will not be pretty for my dealership.
