Wow. I didn't realize the 996tt was so inexpensive (relatively). I found 1 close by. Under 50k miles for about $40k. m gonna go check it out. I still remember getting a ride at an autocross lap 10 years ago and loved the way the front tires would claw for traction while drifting. Crazy stuff.

Great vehicle. Just watch out for
2nd gear pop out issues, and coolant hose failure. Cost me about 10k over three years of ownership . That amounts includes a clutch replacement . What is it with Porsche? can't make decent coolant pipes or hoses? We should probably all go back to air cooled!

Interesting though,.. the prices {for example comparing} 996 TT's, verses 996 GT2's.
I know this is not the 996 forum,... but the conversation seems to be going in this direction based on Corso asking in the first place.
Mecum Kissimmee Florida has a 2004 black widow maker that they are expecting to fetch $160k - $225k this coming weekend? Big difference eh?

I'd love to pick up a 996TT at those prices (if I didn't have 2 kids in college!!),.. and a GT2 would really be the car to punch around the track!, but probably not if there is THAT much of a difference in pricing.

I had a 01 996TT and a 06 Cayenne S. Both gone now but I purchased the 996 new and owned it 10+ years. Zero problems outside of warranty; just normal maintenance.

Well got a 14 Cayenne Diesel and a 15 TTS. DD is a 17 Honda Accord. Probably selling the diesel after the fix/buyback/whatever. Moving to Fl and downsizing. Will be sad to see the Cayenne go though, great car.
