The Cayenne is trying to go all 'Christine' on me
04 ctt. I let my wife drive my car One Time, and now every time I turn off the ignition and open the driver door the seat moves forward while extending the steering wheel towards me. If I don't get out quick, or start hitting the memory buttons I get flashbacks to the movie Christine (which is the stuff of nightmares for a young child).
I've tried all sorts of programming the memory, attempting to program the memory to the fob. No idea what is going on. It used to pull the steering wheel in and up when I turn it off, then slide the seat back about 6" when opening the door.
Any ideas?

Three Wheelin'
You need a his and her key so that when she unlocks the doors with her key, the seat and mirrors are adjusted before she opens the door. Same for you.
If you want to program your settings to the key, do the following exactly as it says.
set parking brake
turn on ignition but don't start
close door
adjust mirrors, seat, and wheel
press Set and within 10 seconds, press a memory button and hold until you hear a beep
remove key from ignition
press set button and hold within 10 seconds of removing car key. hold until you hear a beep
your settings are now programmed for the key.

Thanks for the replies this far. I did read the manual when I purchased the car but that was quite some time ago. My memory of the events is that I couldn't get it to program consistently.
In any case, I'll try the procedure laid out above and reply with results. One snag, my cluster speaker stopped functioning some time ago after a particularly cold week outdoors. Any idea how long one holds the button before a beep happens?
I've grilled her a bit for details on what set of circumstances she may have used to accidentally possess this car to no avail. It's as if the 'let-the -fat-guy-out-easier button' on the column is working in reverse.

Worse worse case you disable the moving steering wheel in the menu settings. I think it's under "comfort". Obviously you want it working properly but at least you can stop the steering wheel from squeezing the pillsbury.

Unfortunately I have to report the steps for setting seat memory to the key fob did not work. I tried each step holding the button for 3 seconds, 10 seconds and 30 seconds (since I the speaker doesn't work to go 'ding.')
Upon further investigation, it seems like the seat was reverting back to position #2 once the door is opened. I did go ahead and program position 2 to my liking (same as position 1) but the seat still goes back to the 'old' #2 settings. If I stop it manually, get out and lock the car, when I return and unlock I can see the seat continue to move to position #2.
I'm open to any other suggestions. I'd really rather not take it to the dealer for something that should be so simple. Ugh.

The battery is 2 years old, a duralast (autozone) AGM variety. Was replaced due to everything slowly turning off on me on a commute home one day. Come to think of it I've had all sorts of odd electrical gremlins since. None of which try to kill me until now.
I'll give it a try tonight. Gotta inspect/solder the airbag connectors anyway.

Update: leaving the battery disconnected for about an hour while I played with the air bag connectors didn't reset memory settings. However, something changed because I was able get the desired result using the steps above to program the seat memory to the key fob.
Thanks for everyone's input.
