Default New Tires for 09 CTTS

Greetings. I am seeking advice on 21" replacement tires for my 09 CTTS. I currently have Pirelli P Zeroes and have been able to put just over 14,000 miles on them. Should I just stick with the Pirelli's or should I consider another tire? Appreciate any suggestions you might have. Thanks!

I have had quality issues with multiple sets of P Zeros and now stick with Michelin Latitude Sports which I am more than happy with the performance of.

I managed to blow through a set of 20" Michelin Latitudes in 17K miles. That made me somewhat unhappy so I switched to Continental ExtremeContact DWS. I already have 32k miles on these and they don't need replacement, although I probably will in the fall when I'll switch to dedicated winter rubber.
The Michelins are quite a bit quieter, ride softer, yet feel more stable in the turns. The continentals are great tires especially in the rain and are capable enough in the snow. They are 3/4 the price as well.

Setup your alignment in the position you drive in the most, flatten out that camber a bit and it will gain significant life of the tires!

Michelins. Unfortunatley no one manufactures a 21" all season tire for the Cayenne. If they did regaqrdless of brand I would switch to them.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I just ordered a set of Nokian summers for $920 shipping from tiresbyweb, a guy by the name of pat helped me out.

Looking forward to trying them out!

Great info. I just purchased my 06' TTS with brand new Pirelli's but I am expecting these to go quickly. I have the Continental Extreme DWS's as mentioned above on two of my other cars (964 and 993) and love them. The 993 doesn't see much mileage but I drive the 964 all over the place. No idea on wear but so far everywhere else I've been extremely happy and they are reasonable.

Thanks for starting the thread, this will come in handy in a year or so.

Nokian WRG3 is available in 21" tyres, you do have to go down to 275 , but you get " all-weather" which is better than " all season" I run them on everything vehicle I purchase. I've rotated them every 5K miles, and have gotten 55K out of them . I live in New Hampshire, travel NY, CT, NJ, PA, MA, VT, ME, NH daily, weekly or monthly only issues I've had was the power of the vehicle spinning the tyre on the rim, and they must be road force balanced.

I'd certainly be concerned by the grip available from a tire that is good for 55k miles.

Different strokes....

well at the EOL of any tyre grip would be compromised & questionable. That is why in the states anything under 2/32 tread depth is considered " illegal".

In the state of NH,ME and MA they are trying to pass a law that revises the 2/32 to 3/32 and under is " illegal & unsafe" .

I'm not just talking about EOL, unfortunately wear rate and grip level are inextricably linked in an inverse relationship. I have bought all of my Cayennes purely on their performance attributes, if I'd wanted a practical and reliable SUV, I would have bought a Landcruiser or a Nissan Patrol and spent 50% of my time in the desert.

Tyres are one thing that i would never skimp on; not everyone's choice, but it is mine.
