Default Front Grill License plate holder 04 Cayenne Turbo

Hey Guys

I just picked up and 04 CTT and live in NY where a front license plate is required. I've looked at a few different options like the off center tow hitch insert, the oem one that you drill into the the lower bumper, and the oem one that attaches to the grill without drilling...does anyone know which part number it is or where I could buy this one that doesnt need to be drilled ? Everywhere I look they have the 08+ version which says is not comparable with an 04.

Thanks
Jason

the stock one is about 60-70 bucks depending on the dealership, then they want another 30-40 bucks for paint and freaking 80 bucks to drill it in, telling me it takes awhile and not to do it myself because you can easily hit the windshield fluid tube that runs through the front bumper...200ish bucks for a front license plate holder, jeez. I may just go with the US Mill Works one that goes in the tow hook section but really not liking the off center look. Anyone else come up with a creative method?.. really thinking about zipties at this point

Has anyone tried the Skene design on the cayenne turbo?

I got one from one of the members here who didn't need it. It does not need holes drilled. It has posts on the back that are deep enough to go through the grill and the backs are twisted 90 degrees and tighten the screws to clamp it to the grill. Very simple. Mine is an 05 CTT, so it would be the same.

do you mind snapping a pic whenever you get a chance? For the ones that go on the grill that attach with the little clamps, any reason to be concerned about airflow to the engine or blocking anything? I've searched and searched for an 04-06 turbo bracket that attaches to the grill itself but can't seem to find one, and the local dealers tell me they only have the ones that drill into the bumper

Sure, I went out and took a couple for you just after I posted. The second photo showes the post going behind the grill and you can kind of make out the tab that twists 90 degrees.

So basically it's a large plastic toggle bolt holding it in the grill?

I just took the front plate holder off my '09 GTS, not required in our province. It fits through the grill as pictured above.

Would consider selling but logistics are perhaps rediculous

I paid for shipping for the one I got. Came from New Mexico. Cost me $29.40 shipping.

Another idea, off to one side but no paint marks or drilling.
