I'm out of town, new 08 CS owner. Wife at shopping center, remote won't unlock, she tried unlocking with key and when she opened the door the alarm went off, stopped when she shut door.

Is this normal? Shouldn't using key be able to unlock and start the vehicle?

Low battery in your hand remote, open the remote and install a new battery. The battery that a 3 volt number 2032 type it is round in shape....

Thanks I talked her through opening it up and she went into mall and found the battery.

Surprised though that using the key to unlock didn't disarm alarm.
