New Owner of an '08 S Dumb Question Glove Box Won't Open
Just picked up a '08 S, great shape, with all maintenance records at P car dealer.
Drove it home 180 miles, great ride, awesome vehicle, only thing not checked in inspection was opening the glove box. Tried to open it, is unlocked but it won't open.
Anyone ever had this issue? How to get it open and fix?
Thanks

try to lock it and unlock it again. You use your switchblade key to lock/unlock. Worst case take off the side panel in the Door Jam and see if there is anything wedged in there keeping it closed.

Worst case is that the mechanism is broken, its a cable operated lock, you should use small blades to press the locking blade down, awkward but not hard, once its open you can test it

Try applying upward pressure on the door while pushing the release button. If all else fails, you can remove the aluminum trim plate to the right of the lock button which conceals a screw that holds the latch ***'y to the dash plate. You'll need a security torx bit (Torx bit with a hole in center) to remove this screw.
As gsj said, the door usually gets stuck when an item within the glove box gets jammed between the door and the door frame.

Try what Andy E. said. I thought my glove box was locked after I first got the car but it turned out I just needed to push up in the door to make it easier for the latch to actuate.
