Default WANTED FOR NEW CAYENNE BOOK: high quality pictures of your Cayenne !!!

Hello Cayenne-Friends,

my name is Daniel, I am working @ Berlin Motor Books.
We are preparing the first Porsche Cayenne book since 2003.
It will be a high quality book like the 911 Turbo Book (Air Cooled Years 1975 - 1998) that we´ve done the last year. There will be an exclusive interview with Dr. Wolfgang Porsche concerning the history of the Cayenne, and all the different Cayenne models since 2002 will be presented, numbers of production etc.

We are looking for high quality pictures of your car, without the driver. US-Cars are very welcome, because most of our pictures are from German Cars. The best pictures will be published in the book. We can´t use a picture of your Cayenne with 5 other cars in the background. Your car in a beautiful landscape, or in front of an interesting building would be great. I would be very happy to receive your pictures.

Our e-mail is info@berlinmotorbooks.de

thank you so much,
Daniel

We will not charge you anything, when we list your Cayenne in the book,
but only the best pictures will be listed.
Thank you very much for the first pictures. The images should have around 1MB.
You can also use "wetransfer" for larger images. Our e-mail is: info@berlinmotorbooks.de

thank you so much,
Daniel

Can you include the super hi-res shot I have of my coolant pipes leaking anti freeze? Maybe a nice pic of me changing my brakes and rotors every year

Lol "we will not charge you anything". You have some gall.

Also for print I think 1mb is gonna be on the small side. Minimum dimensions are more important than file size. Do you even know wtf you are doing? An uncompressed image that is 8x10 @300 dpi would be about 30mb. You obviously don't want the images JPEG compressed very much for a "high quality" book.

You guys are just plain nasty.
A simple no or yes would suffice but really....asking for payment? A good show to our German friend how hospitable we North Americans really are.

He is looking to make a profit based off of your work and property (copyright of the pictures). Additionally not everyone is a professional photographer, so if you felt your P!g was worthy of being in a book you might need to lay out some cash for a professional photo shoot.

I don't know that the cost of a professional job is warranted, but asking about compensation is a very legitimate question. We aren't talking about some Cayenne fan that is trying to build a glossary or something. We are talking about someone that is openly stating that they are looking to sell something.

Now, all that said, I am assuming that his "we will not charge you" comment is a translation issue and he means that you'll get a copy of the book if your pic makes it in. If that is indeed the case that would be considered a fair offer by many people and is a pretty common "payment" from what I've seen.

Sorry, its gonna cost me a Benjamin, at least, to get an "adv.1" like shot of the Cayenne - and thats from a friend/coworker hookup.

So yes, I was asking how much you would pay for a great photo.

Endless is right, 1mb is nothing. Expect a 500mb - 1gb working .psd file with all the post production layers, compressed to a minimum of 100mb for final output.

Hopefully someone around here already has a great photo they can submit that represents the Cayenne well. Good luck with your book sir!

Feel free to use the first photo (it's already high res) and if you do, I want that book in exchange:
