European Tourist Delivery now free!
I just spoke to Jamie Dillon, European Delivery Specialist at PorscheUSA and she told me that the European Delivery option that I am planning for May 2012, will now be free! This option previously was 2.5% of the vehicle so it's quite a savings (over $4K) on a $140K car. Not sure when it starts, but I will luckily be one of the first.

They can recommend an itinerary for you, including booking reservations at the same hotels featured in many of their tour packages. They will get you into special places at prices you could never arrange if you tried to set it up yourself.

That's great! I paid about $2K for European Delivery back in 2004. One suggestion if you don't have your whole trip planned out yet, is contact the people at the Porsche Travel Club: http://http://www.porsche.com/usa/ev...ng/travelclub/

Thanks for that (your link had an extra "http://" so it doesn't work until it is removed). Actually Jamie also said she was sending out a package that had the 25 best auto trips in Germany. I've opted for the European navigation data on the car for the trip so I asked if they can program those tours into it. Probably unlikely to happen but shouldn't be a problem if someone decides to take it on as a project.
They probably won't program all those tours into the Nav, but it is really nice having the European Nav data loaded. When you're trying to find a hotel in the middle of one of the older cities, with many one-way streets, it takes the worry out of it!

Renn 951 Thanks for your link and great pictures and information. I see that was 8 years ago but still looking very relevant. Did you ever finish the more comprehensive write-up you were mentioned? I will contact the tour division but it appears online that they only have packaged tours for given dates. If they would do the planning, that would be fantastic although I've already done a lot of groundwork. Meanwhile the young lady in Georgia, Jamie Dillon, European Delivery specialist has been very helpful.
I never did a more expanded write-up on my trip for Rennlist; I put one together for my local PCA chapter newsletter instead. But if you do some searching you can find many write-ups in the Cayenne forum on other people's experiences with Euro Delivery.
