Default Tire Help Needed - color me pissed

I need some input, please.

I am at the end of my second set of 285x35x22 Diamaris, after 80K+ miles They have been freaking superb tires and Michelin has discontinued them with no replacement tire.

For those of you with 22" wheels, what have you used? I know that "mileage varies" on this site, but by staying off the brakes when possible and anticipating stops, these tires have lasted well beyond average tire life. Michelin just lost a customer for life (which, as an older guy, is admittedly not saying much; nevertheless the spirit is there!)

Help appreciated, and thanks.

Wow! 80,000 miles (128,000 kilometers) on a set of low profile 22" tires?
That has to be a world record!

I smoked my factory new OEM Diamaras at 4k miles? Broke all 4 tires steel belts with a light offroad jaunt after buying the pig.

The replacements gone in 12k miles.

I am running lexani on summer 22's.......if you change up the sizes between 35 and 40 you can find deals below 800 sometimes on tirerack.

It's all about the compound.
You can run hard tires for a very long time.
You can run soft tires for a weekend at the track!

UTOQ quotient right.......I like to go 500 and above.

Perhaps you should re-read what he wrote. He is at the end of his SECOND set of tires. Still, that's a great amount of miles out of a 22" tire.

Pardon my ignorance as english grammar was not my forté in school, however, this definitely sounds like the 2nd set of tires had clocked 80K+ on them.

Perhaps the OP can enlighten us with an exactitude of his phrase?

Lewis, maybe we should get a civil engineer involved and get his input on the average particle size of stone used in road asphalt and the abrasion co-efficient of the hardened mixture thereof?

Even though Michelin has had a longtime reputation for long life and durability; hard or soft compound, that's a hell of a long time for a tire to last.

I too read it that 80k for 2 sets but it is written like it's 80k on this set. 40K/set would be pretty darn good in itself though. I'm still happy with my Yoko Parada Spec X's (all season tire), need to figure how long they've been on so far, lots of tread left.

Wouldn't it just be easier to club him and serve him hooves up?

My bride's DD (Ford Excursion) have run Michelin LTX M&S tires and I normally have come to expect about 60-75K miles on a set.
My previous Cowboy Cadillac (F250HD Crew Cab, diesel 4x4, Centurion custom conversion) also ran LTX M&S and got 65K miles with tread remaining.

I've also been told that Michelin tires are usually pretty good for road force balancing as well.
