Default Massive Oil Leak

This is an FYI in case this happens to anyone else.

Vehicle: '04 CTT, 103K miles

I was driving home from work and got a low oil pressure warning. By the time I got the pepper to the side of the road the valves were ticking and you could smell oil. When I opened the hood you could see smoke coming from the passenger side of the engine.

The culprit: the cam chain tensioner had backed out, spraying oil everywhere.

I was very lucky the tensioner didn't back out anymore than it did and cause some real damage.

Has your cayenne had some work in that area or did it just back out over time I never heard of this happening to others.

It looks like it backed out over time. It is located in a pretty difficult location to accidentally be loosened.
