Is the cigarette lighter supposed to swivel up when the ashtray is pulled out? Mine just stays down and it's hard to pull out since I have to "swing" up the lighter holder w/ one hand and pull out the actual lighter w/ the other hand. TIA.

Either way, simple fix for the dealer (assuming you're not "naked"); if you are "naked", simple call to Sunset Imports for a new part at cost + 15%

I have a MY 2006 Cayenne and I have the same problem. Can someone confirm that this is supposed to swing up under on it's own versus being "lifted" up.

Nah...this is a defect, just had mine replaced at the dealer.

Anyone know how to remove the ashtray assembly so I can fix my lighter from not popping up?
Also the center overhead light switch doesn't work either. Suggestions to how to remove the plastic cover without breaking it?
