993 big reds in front instead of 930
hi,my car currently runs 930 turbo brakes all round with 930 trailing arms in the rear. It's a 1980 sc track car running 320 rwhp with 17" ccws on slicks. The body and suspension are built to rsr specifications. Will changing the front brakes to big reds be of a significant advantage?
Thanks

Drifting
I've got 996TT brakes on my 89 Carrera and it does give me peace of mind at the track as i never have to worry about overheating my brakes or having to bleed during the weekend ...
Some say it's overkill but then again, you can never have too much brakes !
Cheers !

I have Big Reds front and 944T Front calipers on the rear. The balance is real nice. You should consider rotor pricing though. The 993 TT front rotors are quite expensive. Your 930 rotors on the front may just as expensive, but you might want to check before tou swap. I agree with Phil above about bleeding brakes. Never an issue at the track.

heat s the real issue, the more brake in back the less heat load in front
stock 930 @70 bar line pressure generates 1961/1242 N of brake torque f/r for a ratio of 1.579
change the front to 993RS/tt and it goes to 2306/1242 N for a ratio of 1.857 ie more front. The rotors are bigger so can handle more heat but it's debatable whether or not you would have better overall performance.
