Good news! You will have to get the little fella to remove his shoes!
I love the Carmine Red. The photo is of the demo car, but mine will look identical. It should arrive here in the UK on Monday hopefully. Maybe the Carmine Red will be an option for the Sport Turismo in due course...

I priced one out with what I thought was reasonable options, and ended up at $160k... $47k in options. FML.. that is too rich for my blood.

Im going to wait three yrs for max. depreciation cycle to kick in. Then I'll buy a Tourismo turbo for around 60-70k.
That's what I did with my Pano turbo. Originally 186k sticker in 2010. Bought it 3 yrs later for 65k from dealer with every option ordered. 38K miles.

I love wagons...my daily is a MB wagon. 2017 AMG wagon still wins the HP/utility battle. I have been waiting for this car before deciding whether the 2017 AMG wagon or this will be the next daily. This car wins in the looks and, presumably, will win the handling battle.
I sure hope major rags do the "ultimate swagger wagon throwdown!" Can't wait to see these two go head-to-head.

I built one up with what I thought were appropriate options, and ended up with $150k without taxes.. that's nuts. Not like it's a turbo or anything. I may also have to wait for a used one

I LOVE IT!!!
I have a family of five and the four-seat Panamera would never work for me as a second car (my 911S being our third car and my wife's Yukon XL Denali being our number one vehicle) - while I rarely drive with all five of our family, I still need that capability, just in case.
I thought about eventually trading my Infiniti FX on a Macan or a Cayenne but would MUCH rather have this! Thank you, thank you, thank you Porsche for making it a five seater! (I can even survive the fact that the fifth seat is tight - better than no option at all!).
It looks gorgeous!

Ever hear the joke, "what's the best way to turn $200K into $100K? Buy a Turbo."
This car will depreciate like a stone, just as AMG wagons do. People who really want to buy one will pay full freight and not flinch. It's not "nuts" anymore than $200K for a Turbo or Cayenne Turbo, etc. I feel car prices, and Porsche prices in particular, have taken a sharp turn upward and can all be categorized as "nuts", generally.
AWD, 550hp, and the ability to carry 4 plus, a large dog, and the sheer befuddlement of other sports car drivers as you blow their doors off or hang with them (or disappear) in the twisties. It's utterly priceless. The stealth form factor saves a lot of "my car is faster than yours" on the street. Sure, .01 percent of the public will know that it's fast...everyone else will think "dork in a modern Buick Roadmaster" or "dad who can't accept a minivan." If your ego can handle it, it's just as valid a way to drop stupid amounts of money on a luxury item and watch that money burn...
TL;DNR version: Porsches are expensive. This one as "worth it" as any other.

Fun fact:
AMG Wagons are THE most limited production vehicle Mercedes makes.
Turns out there just aren't that many people who really want to drop $100K+ on a wagon.
It will be interesting to see the production numbers of Porsche wagons.
Let me drop this right here and pray for Walter Rhorl or Hurley Haywood to attempt...

There is some weird taste dynamic here in the Bay Area where I see a ton of wagons, and with that quite a few amg e63 wagons, Cadillac V wagons, and just regular old MB e350 & 535xi wagons. I happen to love this because growing up in Europe as kids we think wagons are the coolest.. that's why my daily is a 535xi wagon with the M package and tuned engine :-).
This gran turismo is totally my bag.. hope lots of my neighbors here in San Francisco buy one and then get tired of it... I'll be right there waiting
