Went to the Porsche site to configure a 2017 Panamera and found that there is no " Leather Interior " section yet.....Also there are no options for PDCC or PTV

1000% improved on the old car. Welcome to the design ranks of Audi, Aston, and MB.. Porsche! I think maybe my 2015 M3 will move towards a 2018 model especially once we see the GTS that is sure to follow. Question is when.

2017 4S has same hp as '14-16 PGTS and more torque. I believe the '17 is lighter and aside from the body changes will have four wheel steering as an option, I believe, and surely the next PGTS will have it, so with PTV and PCCD will improve on the current version, probably meaningfully. Slightly longer wheel base will make for an even better ride. As ever, Porsche keeps making better cars. I am among those who believe that Porsche will develop/has developed a more powerful NA engine for the next PGTS.

Regarding comparisons to the Tesla S, a very impressive vehicle and when battery capabilities improve will be awesome, I defer to personal preference. The Panamera was and still is an original design with Porsche DNA in its body style and is not derivative beyond its family cues so to me there really is no substitute. Since straight line acceleration is not a priority for me for a sedan and my focus is on handling, braking and superior seats and interior. Again, only my opinion and I respect others' opinions completely.

It is not light as I has hoped for but does have more torque.

All different. It ends up depending on whether it is shaped in a smart way so that the result has the desire properties. Volume can work to an advantage or a disadvantage here.

Can't say that BMW's aluminium experiments worked out great...

Looks beautiful. This is a complete redesign not,a refresh right? Any idea how much stiffer?

Also Amy rumors when the GTS will be released,,and if it's the NA v8?

Other than the GT3 / GT4, I (sadly) doubt there will be any more NA engines in
any Porsche going forward.

Hope the v8 turbo diesel makes it to the cayenne in the USA and I'll be a buyer Man, the 4s vs the turbo will be tough. Cannot wait to drive the new 8 speed pdk

Don't love that the motors are shared but take the good with the bad the 4.8 tt was starting to show a but if age....

I heard Porsche has said that it won't show up till year after initial release. MY 2018 maybe? Initial release models will be for 2017 and only Panamera 4S and Turbo models. So looks like we'll have to wait for the GTS and base and S models for at least 1 iteration.

No worries..my BMW lease is up in 2018 so I think we already have a possible successor!

Porsche has been consistent with its delay of GTS variants so your expectation of a year delay is probably correct. If the quote from the manager of engine development from a Panorama issue last spring is any indication, there will be an NA engine for the next Panamera GTS. While the next PGTS will be a big improvement over the current one, if it does not have an NA engine, I will stay with my '16, get the next GT3 and hold out for the Mission E. For work at legal speeds there is nothing quite like the exhaust note of the PGTS. Maybe it will be the last of its breed, but I doubt it if for no other reason that Porsche did the 911R and its engineers are fanatics like us.
