Default New Spoiler and Pics! Fairy Design Rear Spoiler

I finally bit the bullet and got the Fairy Design rear wing spoiler for the panny! Although I went with the cheaper knock off Hong Kong part, it still looks pretty stunning. The original Japanese spoiler will set you back $2000 unpainted and still need to pay for shipping. Got the HK knock off for $405 shipped. The overall quality of the part is not bad and fit took some finesse to install. I can't compare it to the japanese part, but overall happy with the outcome. Had my local Porsche body shop do a two tone paint job. Gloss Black interior with matching color code outer trim.

This will be a bit of a write up for installation as I had to use some ingenuity to get the wing to properly fall into place. One thing to consider is the fiberglass piece I had allowed for some flex of the spoiler securing tabs. A carbon fiber one may not be as forgiving and hope the factory spoiler tub can flex enough to mate against the wing. You will see in the photo's , the wing didn't properly fit and needed some care to force it down and twords the factory tub edge. See the images below for a rough write up.

I'd been reading about this spoiler, I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, but what's special about it?.. is there a functionality or design to it which is very different from the rest?

IHO, The design helps offset the one area that some of us believe the Panamera lacks in styling- the rounded back area aound the hatch.

Personally, I think it looks great!

Cheers,
Tom

Agreed, it makes the rear end IMO look sharper. I actually just got mine painted and installed and will post pictures soon

Here is my spoiler.

I had my paint guy do a custom job on the spoiler, painting the side Basalt Black to match the car and the outside trip in gloss black as a contrast. Overall I LOVE the look of the car with the spoiler and feel that it completes the rear end of the car.

Negatives: When in deployed mode the the spoiler, the spoiler blocks the view out the rearview mirror, which is a bummer. However since typically its above 60 mph, the only person I'd be looking for in my rear view would be the resident police.
