Panamera vs A8

Panamera is way better car. Only drawbacks are less room in trunk and only four seats if that matters to you.
I also had BMW 7 and Mercedes S which are both better than A8, but Panamera is one level higher.

I would say that the Panermera is closer to the A7 in terms of style and features. The S7 is comparable to the Panny S and the RS7 is comparable to the PTT. In both comparisons, the Audi is ~20%-30% less expensive.
The Audi is a fine car with excellent electronics and fit/finish. The engines in both Audis are also admirable. The driving experience in the Audi is very different (less sporty) and that is likely a deal killer for most that are seriously considering the Porsche.

I traded my A8 for a PGTS a couple of years ago istead of going for the S8. More recently traded the '13 PGTS for a 16 PGTS. IMO no contest between the A8/S8 and PGTS. Yes, the S8 is straight line much faster, but does not corner like a Porsche. Plenty of room in a Panamera, although there are only four seats instead of squeezing a fifth person in the back seat of the A8/S8.

Traded my A8L 4.0 which I got after trading in 991 C4S. Honestly the Audi is technology wise very very good but the driving experience was terrible it (A8) is nose heavy the suspension is soft even in dynamic mode and the steering hunts on the highway at 70+ mph
I traded the A8 after 2 months for PTTS and very happy with the decision.
FYI the trunk on the A8 is tiny Panny trunk larger and colossal when you put the rear seats down

How surprising. Same question on the Audi forum and exactly opposite answer.
