Would worn out drum brakes damage anything else on the car?

Would worn out drum brakes damage anything else on the car?
this is re a buddy's ford that has rear drum brakes.
they're a pain to replace so he just wants to let them die their own death and use the front brakes even if they wear out faster.
the question is whether, once the drum brakes wear out completely, will it damage anything else on the car other than the drum brakes themselves?

Your buddy's a genius.
The braking will become unbalanced, and very potentially unsafe. Drum brakes are not difficult to work on, and he has an obligation to maintain his vehicle properly as long as he shares the road with others.

He could make holes in the floor pan and brake with feet. This way brakes could be avoided altogether.

Once they wear out, the wheel cylinders will leak all of the brake fluid out, and he will have no brakes at all. This could result in everything else on the car being damaged.
