pinhole in muffler weld
was changing oil this weekend, Put the wife on the dolly and slid her under the car (up on the lift) and she says
"whats all this black stuff"
I looked and it was exhaust soot by a weld seam on the stock muffler - pass side.
I cleaned it off and lo and behold, there is a pin hole in one of the weld seams.
Is my muffler the only one with this bad weld issue?

some mufflers are made with a drain hole in them ....so they do not rust from the inside out. check your other muffler. If it is a bad weld a muffler shop can do a quick weld or maybe muffler exhaust patch. you do not say what year...under warranty ?

not a drain hole, its half way up on the chamber
Its definately a bad weld
Its a 2016 spyder with 6007 miles on it.
I left a message with the service manager at the dealer here in Dayton, but he hasnt called me back, (that was Saturday) but I bought the car in Cincy so they likely dont care.
Its this car in the picture...

Since it's under warranty, just have the dealer resolve the issue.

Unfortunately welding is not a perfect process. Is the pinhole in the center of the weld, the weld pool, or is it off to the side in the HAZ, Heat Affected Zone? Could be two different issues.
Should you take the suggestion of drilling and putting in a lag screw be sure to get at a 304 screw.
I'd let the dealer take a look at it. I've seen aftermarket 304 systems fail in the weld area.
