So for track duty you would rate them higher than Trofeos? I'm going to buy a new set after the next event and the RE71Rs are really interesting since they are cheaper and so far the feedback is very good....on the other hand the Trofeos also have good feedback in terms of grip. If you had to pick, which way would you go?....no Hoosiers please as I like to use my car on the street also and trying not to find an excuse to buy dedicated wheels/tires for 6 events per year.

you will gain another second by getting your tire pressure to 32-33
when I get to 35 I pit and let air out to 30-31 (always happens first session of day as I start 26-28 depending on conditions)
running 35-36 too long kills the tire; I did it on a set and it really does damage of 2 track days in a single session. lesson learned

Thanks for the feedback on the RE71R....this is great news as it will save me some $$$ on the long run and I won't loose time to various GT3/4s running Trofeos already. Will try them in 20" for the OEM wheels after the next event....still have some life left on the MPSC2.

Actually, this last time out was with my new 3rd gear, straight out of the dealership with stock spec alignment and I came within .3 sec of my fastest lap time that I had previously set on a more aggressive alignment, and on the same exact tires.

I ran the rears a little higher than the front. Maybe 2-3psi higher. So 27ish front, 29-30ish rear coming right off the track hot. I think I could have still gone lower.

Because of my own measurements, I could care less what the TPMS is telling me on the dash.

I also do that (don't trust electronics) but I have found the TPMS to be pretty accurate and if pressure spikes will give you that info on track...

Three Wheelin'
I don't recommend starting below 26... I personally start at 26 and then pit during the 1st session to let some more air out. Safety over an extra lap...

I put it in circuit mode primarily to make it not give me errors and warnings while I'm on track.

Good idea, will try that next time.

I have recently switched to the RE71R from the Dunlops. I have noticed optimal grip around 33psi. I tried 28 hot and the fronts were definitely rolling over. It was accidental as the sun wasn't out at the time and I couldn't get the tires up to pressure. My scrub-in session I noticed pressures spiked up to 38psi. Since then they have stabilized and I can maintain 33psi.
I have noticed the RE71R's take longer to get up to pressure than the Dunlops but definitely hold out longer without falling off. In fact, I was able to run them a full HOUR this past Friday really pushing the car hard. They never fell off. I would watch the pressures and run a lap at 80% when the pressures would get up to 35. The pressures would drop back down to 33 and I was able to run 5-6 laps (2:23 lap times) without any issues. Overall I am impressed with their performance.
I am running the SC2's on my GT3 it still. I wish Bridgestone would produce them in GT3 fitment as I would run them.
