We don't know the details yet, but hear there is good stuff coming down the line from Porsche. Reportedly, we will soon learn about a new GT3 with a manual option, and a new 4.0 ltr engine derived from a Motorsports racing engine. And, now rumors about a new higher horsepower version of a GT4RS coming.

Do you stick with the Cayman platform and pay up for a "better" GT4RS? Or, does the prospect of a manual 4.0 GT3 win your heart?

Oddly, even with the utter lack of details, this is a question to answered soon if you want to stand the chance to get an allocation. Certainly, every 918 owner will want one of each!

I should be #1 on my dealer's 991.2 GT3 list. The decision will be that much more difficult if it is in fact a manual and if it has the 4.0.

991.2 GT3 will likely be a bit too rich for my blood, so it'll likely be whatever the next GT4 is for me.

If it is just the 3.8 fixed I still will not trade my GT4. And my reason is because I was one of the 785 cars that had the first engine replaced and I waited 5 months and when I finally received it; I never really had that sort of "New Car" experience because it was tainted for my first GT3 experience. So, no want the 3.8. In a perfect world would love to have both but no room and what would I actually do with (2) cars when I only get 3000-4000 miles on the one toy.

Now- if this GT4RS is truly the real thing with a Manual I think I may forfeit the 991.2 GT3 and continue to enjoy my GT4 even longer and then trade.

But - a 991.2 GT3 with a 4.0 L, 500 HP , and a Manual will probably be a "must have"

Most definitely. Wish they'd also drop the 4WS, but I can look past that for a manual.

I am #1 on my dealers list for GT4RS. Put deposit down 24 month ago just in case...and got lit up as stupid on this board....no hard feelings but HA!

If the 4 RS comes with detuned motorsports engine, I am for sure in. If its a X51 on the current platform, probably keeping my GT4 with my 997.1RS or moving the GT4 into the 991.2 GT3 as I am #2 on the list there and shoot for PTS.

No bad choice here. Good luck to everyone who wants either.

Neither, I'm just pleased Porsche keeps coming out with better and better gear. I will pick up the "regular" gt4 scraps, or maybe a mezger gt3 when everyone moves to the next hot Porsche.
