It sounds like he made an honest mistake in maybe being too open, too customer focused, and you made the honest mistake as an enthusiast in sharing your story with the world. Both you and AP in an alternate world in the 1960's-70's would not have been penalized for this.. but in today's world corporations own the world order in a way which puts humans in last place.. and causes us to act unnaturally in order to survive and feed our families.
I didn't mean to make a political statement, I just see the situation for what it is. Two car enthusiasts penalized for sharing a true gearhead bonding moment.
**** the police.
PS: case in point, some software program forced me to spell **** wrong on purpose so it wouldn't look like ****, I have to look like someone who doesn't know how to spell in order to get around the cencorship of a word which we all know and is part of a common phrase. We are all forced into playing the PC game, and damn it, now I just went political.

The first GT4 is effectively equally as fast as the previous 997.2 GT3. If the GT4RS is the same speed as the 991.1 GT3 I'll be happy with that.

matttheboatman, I can't believe that you bad mouthing someone for something that was caused by your stupidity after he treated you with respect and honesty.
You did not keep your part of the deal and he is the one having to diffuse the bomb!

Where are the pics of this supposed multilink rear project??

Here AP pours a little cold water on an imminent gt4 RS. He does admit to high demand, but states not a confirmed project.

The 991.2 GT3 is also pretty much done, which is more intensive with engineering and testing than the other cars, as their crown GT product.
What's left to work on over the next 2 years? The GT2 and GT3RS? What else? Seems to me, they have a bit of extra bandwidth with just those 2 parts bin projects.
Reading between the lines, I think the resources for a hotter GT4 are planned for next year. But technically, it is not "confirmed".
Of course, maybe the RSR was the harbinger of things to come, and they need that extra bandwidth instead to make the GT2RS more of a mid-engine layout. And since VAG budgets are tight and the FeFi is unknown. And since 700HP is the new 500HP. And since the 720S is out. And the 488.
I mean, since GT products don't have backseats anyway... they may as well.
Hmmm...

Was on the short list for a 4RS and switched to the .2 GT3 after the announcement this month. I'm not in a hurry, if fortunate enough to land an allocation I will gladly turn in the GT4 for a .2 GT3 manual and 4.0

^^^^ It's a little hard to tell from your avatar, but IIRC, you have a DBM GT4, and if I further recall correctly, you also have LWBs. If so, please give me first dibs on your car if you're going to replace it! Thanks so much!

If I didn't have a GT4 to tide me over until one with the GT3's 4L is ever produced, I'd go with an R8 over a GT3.
Configured the way I want the R8 is 168K, the GT3 is close at 157K, and the engine placement thing.
For an extra 4K I can get PTS (maybe a nice Nogaro Blue) on the R8, little chance of that with the GT3, or any GT3 at all since I'm not on the list.

You have a good memory, DBM and LWB on the GT4. If I am fortunate enough to receive an allocation for the .2 GT3, the GT4 has already been offered to the dealer. The lure of the Motorsports 4.0, 9k rpm's and 500hp is strong. The only negative for me is that the .2 GT3 is not offered in DBM but there is always PTS

^^^^ Patrick3000, I've frankly been thinking the same things re the 991.2 GT3. Great minds think alike! As with the GT4, I think almost everybody who wants one will be able to get a GT3, even a manual, based on what AP is saying, and seeing what happened with the GT4. However, if I could snag a DBM GT4 (with LWBs), I'd treat it to some BGB or DeMan love. Why, I might even do that to my CWM baby! Seriously, please keep me in mind anyway, if possible. Thanks! How about coming on our April Tail Of The Dragon excursion? Silver wheels rule, too!
