GT4 RS in the works? Rumors of a 4.0...

I've heard from 918 folk that several engines were tested, so I am preparing myself for both 4 and 6 cylinder engines frankly.
Most media articles have said detuned Motorsport 4.0, but it doesn't surprise me if this isn't chosen. They can't make the GT4 too fast after all... Logically car shouldn't have more than 425hp to preserve the pecking order and even that is generous. Thus, makes more sense to be a non-Motorsport engine.
I would take the current 3.8 with 30hp more and revised gearing.

There's probably a "definitive thread" on the subject, so point me to it if so. But I'm curious just what is required to change the gearing to whatever you like. Could that be accomplished with a single change to the differential final drive? Or is the conventional wisdom to change 2nd and 3rd, or 1st 2nd and 3rd?
In the Wrangler world dissatisfaction with the final drive gearing is a way of life; you regear both diffs to 4.56, 4.88 or 5.13, depending on your tire size, and youre out $1600 or so, done in a day.
But with all the complaints about GT4 gearing, it must be a much more difficult process (and it's goes without saying, it's an order of magnitude more expensive. And of course, the transmission doesn't have to be opened in a Jeep -- you just open the two pumpkins with the Jeep up on a lift, slip in new gears, lockers, seal it back up and go.
Is there a go-to solution on gearing?

There are several gearing and transmission threads in the GT4 forum, two are sticky.
GTgears produces shorter 3rd, 4th and 5th, and is working on a shorter 2nd which is part of the main shaft.
There were some pictures of a shorter final drive out of the EU, but I don't see anyone selling it, and the thought is that it would be weaker than stock.

The last review on the .2 GT3 was also complaining of tall gearing. You will have this issue on a 200 mph with only 6 gears.

If the 2nd gear solution becomes a reality I may go this route with a shorter 3, 4, 5th gear instead of the X51 and/or 4L since it would be much easier to do....unless the elusive .2 GT4 comes with +420 Hp 6=cylinder and a host of improvements.

In my defense, the two "transmission failure" stickies are 50+ pages long and are about broken transmissions -- not sure where they veer off into best regearing practices for non-broken transmissions but I didn't think to comb through.
Cheers!
