Default IMSA - Continental Series

Anybody watching the news about the new field that will be participating in the Rolex 24 in 2 weeks? This should be a much more appealing season compared to last year with the debut of the 911 RSR and the participation of 2 more Cayman GT4 teams.

CJ Wilson Racing
BGB Motorsports
GMG Racing
TeamTGM

Should be an exciting season!!

Are the races broadcast online somewhere? I would like to catch some SuperCup this season too if it's available online.

I usually stream it via IMSATV for live coverage... usually a delay with Fox Sports and sometimes up to a week delay.

Yeah, Shock you're killing me on the SoCal FB group with your live posts since I always wait for my DVR to show the recordings to watch. Doh!

I am excited! I already have my tickets for Lime Rock in July. The whole GS field looks great this year.

I have a technical question about the cars this year. Maybe the teams that frequent this forum want to comment... I read that IMSA adopted GT4 specifications so I guess that means all Cayman GT4 cars are running the MR version now? Did the tire specs change this year? The tires look much meatier now and the "stance" seems improved:

The tire has changed however not all of the cars are the MR edition. Teams that run the clubsport last season have a year to bring their car to MR spec. With that being said , the ride height is much different as you can see in the photo above .

Grandfathered cars 3.5 min ride height
MR- Sro homoligated min ride height of 75 front and 94 rear

For the MR spec: is the wing actually bigger/different? I can't tell from the pictures and the only concrete information I've found is that there is an additional hole for angle adjustment.

Great info, thanks! I am assuming the ride height spec units are mixed so the old vs. new ride height specs are old 3.5" (89mm) vs. new 2.95" (75mm) front and 3.7" (94mm) rear. Please correct me if I am misinterpreting...

The wing on the MR is larger and also has an adjustable upright with 2 positions for the rear wing. The series added a 22mm wicker to the NON MR cars for Daytona to balance the performance. I hope that answers your question.

The ride height on the grandfathered GS GT4 CS is measured 3.5 inches from the lowest point on the car not including the front brake ducts. On the GT4 MR, its measured from the chassis points determined by Porsche when they homoligated the car with the SRO.

Here are some photos of our car at the Roar. I hope you enjoy.

I was at the Roar and went on a garage tour with TGM. The owner/driver was the primary leader of the tour and he spoke a little bit about their cars and mentioned that their MR was running slower, if I remember correctly.
