My 'friend' also did this on his Spyder, including IPD Plenum + 82mm TB, Sport headers, and Cobb with dyno tune. Pretty impressive gains. Also added tips and BMC Filter last week.

Not that it matters because I don't have a base, but the end result was 360whp and 300wtq. I need to get another tune for the tips. The low-end torque with the tune is UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE compared to stock!

Did your friend use a battery charger while loading the Cobb tune?... Or just let the car's battery drain a bit? Is there any risk of it dieing while tune is loading?

Would you want to interrupt a major software update on your computer or phone? You'll brick that device. Same can happen with the car's computer. There's a good chance you'll be ok without a charger, but I wouldn't take the chance. Use a charger to be on the safe side.
I have seen cars that do not even allow an update if they see 12.3-12.4V. It wants to see 12.6V or more.

I wish I could answer this. Fabspeed took care of everything and I wasn't technically allowed in the shop area, so I hung back. Was just there to see the dyno pulls.

I'll ask John Gaydos to respond ASAP.

Installing Cobb Accessport it is unlikely to work without a charger. Changing maps over once it is installed is generally fine.

You can install the Cobb AP without a charger as long as you have good voltage in the battery when you start. I uninstall the COBB every time I take the car to the dealer for any warranty or service and re-install when I get the car back. I do have a Braille i48ce battery but not sure if that's relevant. Make sure your lights are off (all of them) radio, AC, etc....

Is a battery tender or trickle charger same thing? Why is there a sticker with a picture just below the battery terminals which seems to tell you not to connect a battery and to consult owner's manual?

I never saw that sticker
Yes a tender and trickle charger are the same thing
I hook my tender ( Deltran ) up tho the battery all the time with no issues
Maybe they are speaking of when you jump the car? They usually want you to find a common ground (not the battery ) Like the block...

Hey guys, the initial install of the Accessport takes about 10 minutes (no big deal) but if you choose to backup the stock file at the same time then it can take up to 45 minutes. If you choose to back up the stock file during install, I would recommend a battery tender to be on the safe side.

Has anyone got a P2099 "mixture too rich in Bank 2" engine control error with Sport Headers?
I have got two in the last two weeks. Not fatal, and cleared, but now it's reappeared, I suspect a real problem. Ideas?

Contact the tuner and let them know your mods and that you are getting "P2099". They should be able to make adjustments but the original tune should of addressed this. It is not too common with sport headers but has happened before. I was warned with my Sport headers possible to pull a CEL w/o a tune

My "tuner" is FVD. I told them about the error and because it's in Bank 2 and not both banks, they said it couldn't be the software. I am experiencing the problem more often now, up to 4 instances at increasing frequency. Does anyone know which side of the engine is bank 2? Driver's or passengers? And does anyone know how the ECU measures the A/F ratio? Must be somewhere in the exhaust system, since with a DFI engine, it can't be before the exhaust. I presume it's the O2 sensors?
thanks,
