Default Here's a great reason to option the platinum satin wheels.

I recently cleaned off a section of brake dust on my 05 Boxster and couldn't believe the difference.
This example is a good reason to go with either the platinum satin wheels or platinum black wheels rather than the silver wheels.
The silver wheels really show the brake dust.
The platinum satin wheels seem to have a finish very similar to the color of brake dust which means less washing of wheels and more driving, unless your really into car detailing.
Something to think about, I also like the look of the platinum satin wheels much better than the silver ones.

Even PCCBs dust at the track, and they stink too.

I agree silver wheels will show more brake dust and I'm not a fan of the painted look as opposed to the polished metal look of wheels like the ones on my M3, but since I'll be ordering DBM, I want silver wheels both for contrast and to keep the car somewhat understated. The wing is already enough racecar on a DD. Platinum wheels just don't do it for me with DBM, and although I like the black wheel look for a dedicated track car and would therefore likely order black wheels if I decide to get a dedicated set, for everyday I still want silver. Fortunately I'm not OCD about keeping my car clean.

Or just leave the dust on and they look like the Satun wheels.
