Default Order went v100

My sales rep said Porsche is still struggling with LWB seats, so my July order turned into Oct and now I don't have a build date with v100 status. I'll keep everyone updated, for those waiting on LWB seats.

I'm stuck with sofas and dealer after talking to rep said that a lot of these cars with lwbs in the system right now are not going to get them. Porsche will not keep pushing back builds if seats aren't ready. They have some stict end dates set for the end of production for this car. There will not be building this car past the end of January.

I guess I'm lucky by getting one of these unicorns (with LWBs).

Source? This doesn't jive with my delivery schedule.

When is your build date? If I can't get LWB's I will just look for a used 15' gt3 with LWB's again or start looking at F430's or 458's. This is my first Porsche and I am turned off by the whole situation. Silly to spend 100k on a car you can't spec exactly how you want.

Awesome. You got your allocation after me too. Maybe my sales rep is screwing me over. Who knows.

I very seriously doubt it. Way too much integrity there IMHO. I just got lucky.

Disclaimer:
I was informed of the LWB issue (with a change request) early on. But I contacted PCNA myself and discussed it at that level. Sometimes the squeaky wheel (customer vs dealer) does get the grease.

Gotcha. Glad it worked out for you. Wondering if I should contact Porsche NA now...

Whoa, I too would love to hear the source on this. So much for a second year of production -- this would mean not even one full year of production.

Like I said, "early on", when it was 8 wks vs 10+ wks now. But you are welcome to try. What do you have to loose?

$0.02

Perhaps the better question is what he might have to "lose" -- but I agree that it's unlikely that his dealer is playing fast and "loose".

But where have you learned that the delay for LWBs has increased even though time has obviously gone by since the original announcement? It's 10 weeks or more from today even though it was 8 weeks from the announcement a few weeks back??? I'll just cross my fingers that things get sorted out toward the end of the year, perhaps helped by the apparent use of the GT2 buckets on GT4s built for other markets.

So, how long take to build ~2500 units? Would be interesting to know the production schedule/rate.

Agree.

'15 GT3 or 458 would be better. The LWB fiasco is ridiculous. Mine also is delayed because of LWB. I told them to cancel my order. They however, moved my build to Sept or Oct. Who knows?

Agreed. No idea how long it would take, but I have yet to see the 2500-unit number confirmed. I'm still wondering if even Porsche hasn't quite decided on how many units they'll build and when production will stop, possibly because GT4 demand has so wildly exceeded their expectations.
