Default Major issues so far with 991.2?

I'm looking to get into my first Porsche. I have never owned a Porsche before. My question is regarding the maintenance of a new Porsche.

Given that it is a luxury brand I am assuming that the maintenance costs are high. What I would like to know for those of you who have kept the cars many years is whether not you purchased an extended warranty the after the factory warranty had expired.

What kind of maintenance issues are you running into with the 991.2? What are the typical routine costs for maintaining a vehicle through the dealership such as oil changes, timing belts, etc.?

No response yet to your post?? Yikes. Porsche owners are so modest. That said: there should be NO issues yet on the 991.2. Did you buy one? As for 2017 models: oil/filter = $300+. Plugs = $600 or more. Brake fluid at 2 years = $300-400 or so. Brake job included rotors, pads, sensors and fluid = $4000. From my perspective: YES to buying an extended service contract/warranty. I purchased mine from Warrantech (Custom Edge Plus Ultimate) but there are many sources. Our son just bought a policy for his 2015 M4 from Endurance. We're talking $2-5000 depending on terms. Ouch. I have one on both of our 2017s. My concern: maximum months/years into the future. (We buy; don't lease. Kiss of death?? Still making payments on a no-warranty car and have a major failure or repair.) Most important: your extended warranty/service contract has to cover the electronics like the PCM, computers, and all the other servos and switches and stuff. Engine/gearbox = good. Never a problem. But what happens with the trunk lid won't open??

There is a recall on various 2017 models, including our Carrera 911. Not expecting this to prove our model to be a lemon.

Hope you bought your Porsche and my apologies for the lack of responses to your post.

There have been a couple of recalls on some of the 991.2s. One is replacing some screws and the other is for air bags. Coming up on a year of issue free driving with my 991.2 C2s. Hope to get the recall work done with the one year service if the dealer has the parts to do it. Love the car. Zero regrets.

No dealer maintenance experiences with the 991.2 TTS Cab to date. No recalls on mine, that I have heard about.

My only issues are it goes too fast and does not use enough gas

I have a C2 and the below services were done since last Thanksgiving purchase.

1. Safety recall: fastening screws for fuel pipes could shear off --> fuel could leak into engine area --> fire risk. I did receive a letter from Porsche. Didn't see TT/TTS models listed but everything else was, including Cayman and Boxter.

2. Voluntary: front lift has improved parts. Updated PCM and something about newer DME software so we could diagnose issues better. Translation: harder for you to tune lol (just guessing here).

I have owned my car 991.2 C4S since March last year and now have about 17k miles on it. I have had one issue with my coolant bottle, which ended up being covered under a recall. There have been 3 recall items, that one, airbag and fuel tank. All the rest has been smooth sailing and it has been a blast to drive. This is my first porsche and I am enjoying driving it every day (even had snow tires for the winter).

There was a design flaw in the first run. I had a leak out of mine and the sensor repeatedly had problems ( even when no over heating ). They swapped everything and smooth sailing since then.
