Many years ago, I accepted an offer for a Controller (accounting) position at the ripe young age of 27 and was finally in the big leagues as far as my career goes. I decided it was time to look the corporate part and added a pre owned Boxster instead of driving my blue collar Lightning and SN-95 Cobra at that time. The car was fairly cheap used and was cheap to maintain but looked fancy enough for work. Drove to work my first day and people were gathered nearby at lunch and said I must be rich or getting paid well. I just humored them, especially considering that I haven't even been paid yet.
