Any idea which engines are coming?
Rumor is all 2016-2017 engines are going to be turbo to replace the flat 6 in the Cayman/911
What is the speculation on size?
I am guessing but assume 2.0L turbo 4 cylinder and 3.0L 6 cylinder turbo with various tunes to push power and torque above current levels of the 2.8-3.8L flat sixes. No doubt they will perform. And the added torque will be huge. I could even see some electric hybrid torque-fill magic in a 991.2 variation.
The only unknown for most is how will they sound? If these engines exhibit any BMW direct injection turbo "diesel" sounds it will be a huge let down especially since the engine is behind the driver.
