911 vs Panamera

911 vs Panamera
I'm in the market for a new car. I originally went to the stealership to test drive the Panamera but wasn't too impressed. I drove a base and 4S and couldn't feel the power difference. I couldn't justify the extra cost. It was a regular sedan. Nice styling. It doesn't have the technology found in other luxury cars at the same price. The air cooled seats suck and in the high desert where I live those creature comforts are important during my 4 mile drive to work when its 115 degrees outside.
So.... then I test drove the 911. OMG!!! The base was great. 911 S was even better. Not as practical as a panamera. But wow was it fun to drive. Some people complain of the engine noise. It didn't bother me, but does it get old as a DD? Does the excitement get old as a DD?
Convertible vs hard top? I haven't decided yet. Pro's vs con's? I have a hard top convertible now and I said I'd never get a convertible again.
As I write this post I realize I want the 911. The panamera is the practical choice. Its the car my mother just purchased. Its the car my gf wants me to purchase because she has kids. I don't have kids. I want/need the 911. I'm turning 41yo next month, am I having a midlife crisis?
How much can I expect to negotiate off a new 911? I will buy from any dealer as long as the price is right. White exterior/black interior.
Lastly, I am considering splurging for a GT3. Whats the wait time for a slot? Any negotiation on these?
Thanks.

None of that is the same other than a P on the hood .
One is a nice sporty 4 door car capable of some sport and touring.
One is road going sports car .
One is a dedicated track car that you can get a license plate for.
The discount is not going to be much and in many cases there will be no discount at all. Anything you have to order sure wont carry any discount .

One dealer told me 3% discount for a 911 and 7% for pananera ordered.
My mom got about 10% on a ordered panamera but they won't honor that same deal.
I'm trying to get the best deal I can. This is more than I have ever spent on a car. But i think it is worth it if the thrill lasts and doesn't get old.

But yeah, the correct solution is to have one car for you and one car for the kids. If that means buying a car that's a few years old then do that, it's a better deal anyway...
42 years old here and just bought my 993 which I highly recommend. Our son can ride in the back, or in my wife's Ford Explorer.
