Battery Charging Question..
This has prob. been covered somewhere ...
anyways I was not able to find what I was looking for so here is my question..
I'm storing a 2011 911 for the winter. What is the best way to trickle charge the battery ?
Can I use the 12 volt cig lighter in the cab to charge or do I need to access the battery from the trunk ...
Thanks
Howard

The Porsche battery maintainer allows you to keep the battery in the car, and to plug it into the cigarette lighter. Such devices are also available from other sources, e.g. "Battery Tender."
Note that these are not battery chargers.

Many chargers claim they are good for all types of batteries. Not true if you want the battery to last a long time.
If your 911 is stored in a cold garage, you want a charger that has a cold weather setting which increases the voltage up a bit. The CTEK charger does that.
I prefer to go directly to the battery using the supplied cables that come with most battery maintainers.
