Default Zuffenhousen Spyder Pick up.

Picked up my Spyder on Tuesday. Great job by Porsche! Did the full front end Xpel by the folks at Schwaben Folia. Grate job. They picked it up at 10 after my Euro delivery and were finished by 3 that same day. I did the factory tour and lunch while they did my car. Great service. Headed to Austria and Italy. So far did Timmelsjoch (2474 m). Tomorrow will be Stelvio Pass (2757 m) followed by Gaviapass (2618 m) and Passo De Croce Domini ((1892 m). Great hotel tonight before Stelvio Pass. I got here early and found a great parking spot. I don't know why the one photo is flipped.

Sorry did not have a good internate connection till today. Stelvio pass was great. Great road condition plus wide enough for two cars. Next was Gaviapass. Not very good road conditions. Broken road surface most of the way on the top and worst of all single lane with two way traffic. Now third pass (Passo di Croce Domini). That was scary. After that I am done with the passes. All single lane up and down. You encounter a car you play chicken to see who backs up. On the way down even one lane tunnels with no lights. I have no idea how I would have backed up in the Spyder in the dark tunnel. I was lucky I encountered only one car at the top. A brand new Cayman coming directly towards me! Young girl driving. She was on the rock face side I was on the cliff side. I backed up but my right side tires were about a foot near the edge of the cliff. There was at best six inches between us as she passed.. On the way down near the bottom of the pass 3 BMW Mule cars with the distinctive black and white camo passed me as they were going up the pass. They were flying and luckily the road finally was wide enough to pass each other. Either 5 or 6 serious. I have no idea what we would have done if I met them at the top. Spoke to other folks in this Italian Alp are and they have been spotted everywhere.

Soo no more passes! I headed more of the back roads toward Cortina d'Ampezzo. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Up in the mountains and some amazing places to stay. Stayed overnight at the place in the picture. I have been lucky so far with great parking.

Headed to Croatia and down the coast to Dubrovnik where the curves are amazing, the road surface is fantastic, and two lanes for two way traffic!

I will do more pics at least by Sunday where I will have great internate speed. It's just too slow uploading at this hotel.
