Best Driving Roads in the Northeast
Vermont has some of the best Porsche driving in the East.
1. Most of our State roads are in excellent condition with banked corners following twisty rivers with few side roads entering ( minimal side road pull outs).
2. We have few large towns or cities. Translate : few police patrols. Most small towns have NO police and the Staties are few and far between.
3. Passing is legal across double yellow lines as long as no cars are coming. If you have a opening ahead and the horsepower, go for it!
4. Our scenery is spectacular with plenty of 93 octane available.
5. Last but not least, Almost zero traffic.
I have several 1-4 hr drives if anyone is interested.
Note: in 15 years of Porsche driving in Vermont, I've only had one speeding ticket which I beat in court.

Did the Mt Equinox - Lake George - Lake Placid - Lake Champlain and across Brandon Gap and south down Rt 100 last week. Nice run some traffic but mostly smooth going.

If you're ever in North Eastern PA...Upper Smith Cap, Lower Smith Gap and Mountain Roads are a blast...lots of long winding smooth tarmac in the valley between blue ridge and chestnut ridge.

One especially interesting stretch is Rt 108 through Smugglers Notch. They will be closing it as winter arrives, but there is still time to check it out. Spending the weekend in Stowe, but went to breakfast in Jeffersonville yesterday and drove through Smugglers Notch and back with no traffic. Managed to maintain the speed limit through the tighter turns, but just barely given the lack of forward viability and negative camber on a few. Fun drive.
I would like to know more stretches like it. Will head south on Rt 100 mid-day instead of the interstate.
