Default HOW TO: Change your Porsche Battery

I filmed my buddy changing the battery on his 2010 Porsche Cayman S. To my knowledge the procedure is the same if not very similar with many other models of Porsche. Hope you like it and find it helpful!

Figuring that it was not as fragile a car as a Lotus, I stood stocking-feet in the frunk. Transferred battery to a table in front of the car. Reversed the procedure.

Please 'splain to your buddy that lighting in these DiY videos makes a HUGE difference in the how useful they are. Decent lights are inexpensive and easy to set up. Half of the vid showed nothing 'cuz you couldn't see what he was trying to show.

I think you do have to use PIWIS to register the battery because charging strategy is different between an old and new battery. You can potentially compromise the life of a new battery by not registering it with the onboard electronics.

Is that true for 987.2 cars?

This is common on modern cars, and I was wondering how to do this - I’ve seen it done with an OBD2 reader on Volkswagen Golf

You don't need PIWIS, something like iCarsoft can do it. I changed my battery recently and it was simple (having come from Audis where the same thing is required when changing battery)
