Short Shift Kit for Boxster/Cayman/Carrera
I am hoping this little guide of me switching my gearbox to the Porsche OEM Short Shift Kit (part: #99742498300) will come in handy if you've been considering this change for your vehicle but were put off by the effort. I was unable to find much online help so decided to fly blind, and it wasn't that bad at all.
Fits the following models: Boxster (all versions) 1997-12, Carrera (all versions) 1999-12, Cayman (all versions) 2006-12

Just put a Ben's in mine last weekend and you're right. It wasn't that hard to do.

I just installed a Numeric shifter on our Boxster S 986 and did a comparison with the stock 986/996 shifter, a friends 997 shifter in his 996TT and our eBay/Tequipment with Ben Auto Design metal side lever.
We have done several modifications and upgrades to our car and this is by far the favourite.
