Default Child Safety Switch

I have just got a 2003 Turbo, very clean and full service history.

One problem though, the switch on the drivers side door to control the child safety in the rear (doors & windows), doesn't seem to work, the light on the switch goes on only when it is depressed, then nothing. Holding the switch down, you can still operate the rear windows & locking.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm not sure about '03 models but on my '09, this feature can also be activated via the cluster/stalk buttons.

The '03 doesn't have the control on the stalk, only on the door. I have had a suggestion that it might just be a loose wire, will take the panel off tomorrow and have a look.
