Data Best Practices

Another suggestion: Play with different ways to visualize data. Take a look at the picture below. A quick glance at the distance plot at the top doesn't show anything particularly notable with regards to the oil pressure (green line). However, plotting oil pressure vs. engine RPM showed that the oil system was being challenged. Referencing this alternate plot, the distance plot at the top can be reviewed again to find the trouble spots which weren't immediately apparent.
Bob Knox's book has some great suggestions on how to organize templates for data review.

Absolutely! John Block's webinars at auto-ware.com are good, too.

Since no one has mentioned it yet:
Make sure all your sensors are logging correctly zeroed if necessary before the event starts so you don't collect a bunch of garbage.
Reading through these has been a nice refresher, sometimes its easy to forget the simple things. Thanks!

Just thought I would give this thread a quick bump with something that came up in another thread.
If you use SD cards, get a case like this to hold all your cards. Then you won't be misplacing them, searching zip lock bags, etc.
It's not a bad idea to get a small case to carry your cords, adapters, etc that you need for your system as well. I like Pelican cases, but anything will work. Home Depot has some nice small cases for under $10 that work well too.

I agree with Matt. I got from Amazon a while ago. It holds both SD and micro SD. It's harder to keep track when they are strewn in a pouch somewhere. Helps to have a case to hold all your camera mount options too.
